In Std.9 to 12 now 30% objective question


The board has made major changes in the examination system of Std. 9th to 12th with the suggestion of the government to keep the stress of annual examinations-board examinations on students due to lack of classroom education.  Percentage will be objective question and 50% MCQ pattern is maintained in Std. 12 Science.

For the current academic year i.e. 2020-21, the proportion of objective i.e. short questions in Std. 9, 10 and Std. 11 Science stream and general stream) and Std. 12 general stream examination papers has been increased from 20% to 30 now.

While the proportion of descriptive i.e. large-expanded questions was 80 per cent which is reduced to 70 per cent.

While 50% MCQ pattern has been kept unchanged in Std. 12 Science. After the Gujarat Board decided to remove MCQ pattern in Std.  The MCQ pattern was finally over.

But in the wake of Corona, the board has retained the pattern of 50 per cent MCQ questions in 12 sciences for the 2021 board exams in schools where classroom teaching has not taken place and the stress of exams has not been on the students. However, there is no MCQ pattern in Std.  Apart from this, in other changes, Gujarat Board has decided to give general option instead of internal option in descriptive questions in Std. 9 to 12.

So that students will have a lot of ease in the exam.  According to the revised syllabus of Std. 10 and 12 subjects, the marks per chapter, the structure of the question paper and the details of the new format as well as the details of the marks per chapter and the structure of the question paper as per the revised syllabus of Std. 9 and 11 subjects will be formally announced in a few days.

The board examination of Std. 10 and 12 will be held in May and the6 annual examination of Std. 9-11 will be held in June.  While in Std. 9 and 11 the question papers of the annual examination which were earlier to be prepared by the board will now be prepared by the schools instead of the board. The board has made these changes this year and also informed all the DEOs about this.  Has been ordered to.
